Abstension Movement-1932
The agitation known as Nivarthana Movement was started as protest against the constitutional reforms of 1932. Nivarthana movement lead by C.Keshavan.Under the new reforms the Ezhavas, Muslims and a section of christian community would get only a lesser number of seats in the sree moolam praja sabha. These communities there for demanded that they should be given representation in the legislature in proposition of their numerical strength. They found their own organization called "Samyukta Rashtreeya Samithi ". C Keshavan was arrested following a speach made at kozhanjeri in 1935.
Malayali Memmorial -1981
Malayali memmorial was submitted to the maharaja on january 1 st 1891. The petition which was signed by 10, 028 persons belonging to all castes and creeds drew the attention of the Maharaja to the exclusion of the educated natives from the higher grade of the public service. They also pleaded that rules be enacted to provide them with a fair quota of government
appointments. The great patriot GP Pillai was the brain behind the whole move. G P Pillai has come to be called the father of Political Movement in Modern Travancore.
Ezhava Memmorial-1896
First Ezhava memmorial submitted to the Maharaja on september 3 1896. Ezhava memmorial signed by 13,176 members of the Ezhava community under the leadership of Dr.Palpu. A second Ezhava Memmorial presented to Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of india during his visit to trivandrum in 1900. The Ezhava memmorial requested the Maharaja to consider on the Ezhavas the same right and privilages which were being enjoyed by those of their caste who had become converts to christianity.
Kayyur Riot -1941
Kayyur a remote village in Kasargode taluk. Kerala communist party formed 1939 at parappuram near Pinarayi Kannur district. 1939 onwards socialist group in the congress organization emerged as the communist party of malabar. KPCC gave a call to the people observe September 15 1939 as Anti-Imperialist Day. The action of the KPCC disapproved by the congress working committee but demonstration and meetings organized in large scale in Malabar.
There were Violent clash between the police and the people in such place as Morazha and Kayyur. In kayyur the protesters killed a police constable. For peasant who were tried in connection with the kayyur out break were sentensed to death.

Kizhariyur Bomb Case - 1942
This Incidents related to quit india movement in Kerala. In malabar quit india movement lead by Dr.KB Menon. A secret journal called " Swatantra Bharatam " was published during this period. Under the leadership of Dr.KB Menon a few violent incidents involving disruption of communication and attack on government officers and police stations. Kizhariyur bomb case in which 27 persons including KB Menon were charge sheeted was the most important episode of the sturggle.
Punnapra Vayalar Uprising - 1946
It was a communist uprising in Alappuzha against the American model rule of Diwan CP Ramaswamy Ayyer. Common man with slogan such as " chuck the American model into the Arabian Sea " fought against Diwan's army in punnapra and Vayalar.
Vaikkam Sathyagraha 1924-1925
Vaikkam sathyagraha was a social movement against caste system. Main aim of sathyagraha was to obtain the right for untouchables to walk along the approach road of vaikkam temple. Important leaders of this movement were T.K Madhavan, Mannath padmanabhan, KP Keshava Menon, CV Kunjuraman, Karur neelakandan namboothiri etc. Sri Narayana Guru, EV Ramaswami Naiker, Gandhiji, Akalis from Punjab participated in the sathyagraha. EV Ramaswami Naiker was called as the hero of vaikkom sathyagraha. EV Ramaswami naiker also known as " Periyor " was a social reformer from Tamilnadu. Vaikkom sathyagraha was the one of the major struggle in travancore against untouchability. By 1928 approach roads to all temples were open to all Hindus irrespective of castes.
TK Madhavan
Madhavan was born ar karthikapally, He was the founder of temple entry movement. He met gandhiji at Tirunelveli. TK Madhavan monument is situated at chettikulangara. He was the editor of Deshabimani News Paper and in 1918 he was electes as the member of Sree moolam Praja Sabha. He moved a resolution for the eradication of untouchability in the Kakkinada session of INC in 1923. He was also one of the leader of vaikkom satyagraha. TK Madhavan was died in 1930. In 1964 TK Madhavan Memmorial college was founded at Nangiar Kulangara.
Guruvayur Saryagraha 1931-1932
Guruvayur satyagraha was started in 1st Novemner 1931. Its main aim was to get the temple open to all Hindus. A satyagraha committee was formed under the Presidentship of Mannath Padmanabhan. K. Kelappan was the secretary of satyagraha committee and AKG was the volunteer captain of the march started from kannur to kochi. In september 21st 1932 Kelappan started hunger strike but in October 2nd 1932 satyagraha was withdrawn as per the request of Gandhiji. Guruvayoor satyagraha failed to achieve its immediate objective, but it produced a climate in favour of the eradication of untouchability in kerala.
