Two rescue guards will be deployed on a daily basis on the fiberboat deployed as part of the maritime rescue operation from June 9 to July 31 in connection with the trolling ban.Fishermen residing in Kasaragod district approved by Kerala Fishermen's Welfare Fund Board can apply.
Preference will be given to those who have experience in maritime affairs and have been trained by the National Institute of Water Sports in Goa. Interested candidates should submit the application to the office of the Deputy Director of Fisheries, Kanhangad Meenapees by June 5, along with their biodata with passport size photo, copy of identity card, copy of Fishermen's Welfare Fund pass book and proof of eligibility documents. Candidates will be selected through an online meeting on June 7. The Deputy Director of Fisheries announced that the June 4 meeting on the selection of rescue guards had been canceled.
